Learning from my mistakes at the risk of being “that girl”

I am a reticent teacher, mentor, preacher and at some times…friend…

Because I see the advice I give, often based on my own experiences and think -

If someone came to me, years ago with the same point of view, I’d tell them a thousand different ways in which my situation, my boy, was different

Then again, I argue everything

Have I learned any real lessons myself?

I can now identify the patterns, the pitfalls and the ways in which to stop myself, yet I don’t always abide myself.

Either I am a glutton for punishment, a true Libra, I’ve learned nothing, or maybe it is okay to keep your heart open.

Still learning

Episode #7 - The Spontaneous Experiment

This week we conduct an online experiment by recording our show and posting videos to Seesmic all at the same time. We manage to entice some of our Seesmic friends to join the podcast by posting questions and comments for us to answer. In the midst of this online interaction we discuss the possibilities of more NYC visits, marriage for immigration purposes, long-distance relationships, that time of the month and the beginnings and endings involved with dating.

Send us your feedback!

Episode #6 - Encountering Birthdays

The calendar turns to Dana’s Birthday and the festivities have begun! But before we celebrate, we look back on vacations, new found confidence, rational dating, goodbyes and being born stoned. As well, we play with our new toy Seesmic. Have a look at our videos below.

We also ask you (our listeners) to help us create a theme song for the show!

Episode #3 - Drinking From the Bottle

We capture ten wine-filled days in Brooklyn for your listening enjoyment. We warn you that some parts are naughty, some parts are silly, but most parts are ridiculous and a little bit incoherent. Our mom’s would be proud. Enjoy.

Episode #0 - Primer

The goal of our first recording was to create a starting point of sorts, so that if someone found us a long time from now, they could listen to this and skip to the current place in time. We introduce one another, tell the story of how we met (complete with our first emails to one another), the genesis of “Spin the Bottle” and generally chew your ear off.
